We start of getting them to touch new foods, then touch their lips with it, then put it in their mouth for a short time before we get anywhere near eating it........ it can take forever! You want so badly to make a difference but all you can do is offer time, patience and opportunities! I have some of those springs things..... you can get them from cheap shops like poundland etc....... I had an idea of drilling holes in tobys books rather than paying a fortune for buggy books...... they might be a good idea for Christopher toys when he's in the buggy so you don't have to keep faffing picking them up! Your solution sounds better. Hope she might read this.
Have you seen "Baby Hospital"? My god that is a tv prog to see to make one aware of how harsh life can be for some people,I cry and cry.I have to say I am in awe of any mummy or daddy who looks after any ill child and still manages normal life and still smiles, wow, they are super parents! I have worked with severely autistic children and for the duration of a school day with them, I found it exhausting so don't know how their parents cope.
I think all of us get stressed, heck we wouldn't be human if we didn't.I get stressed mostly with annoying sales persons calling on the phone....grrrr as if parents don't have enough to do in a day! I love my friends to bits, they are so special to me but I even stress when they don't understand children and how time consuming they can be, they say lets go out and don't appreciate how much of a task that can be. One of my best friends who I met in Bath, really wanted all of us to go to the Spa, he marched us all there and then tried to get me to buy a swimsuit then and there so I could go in the pool and I said what about swimming nappies for Christopher, he looked stunned hahaha,he hadn't thought about that bless him. Still he has gone through some hard times too as he fell of a horse in New Zeeland so Mark,he and I all have a lot of patience and understanding of one another so can't find him too stressful really :oD

How do you deal with a child with food phobias? That must be difficult. Hope you are enjoying a nice restful bank holiday xAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11005096501831595920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7977346207935034011.post-70754952286394800282011-08-29T00:34:57.612-07:002011-08-29T00:34:57.612-07:00Sounds like the lady could do with those keys you ...Sounds like the lady could do with those keys you just have in your bag and the car know they are there so you dont even have to get them out! I do get stressed but working with the children I do makes me feel very lucky that I am not having to cope with a child who can't communicate, or who has food phobias or who has seizures! I do however find I have more patience at work!sparklycheerymummyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06464111258261887608noreply@blogger.com
